Ice Cream Princess - Vanilla - Border
Note: This is not an Ice Cream Princess KAL, but only one part of it - instructions for designing and knitting the blanket. You can find the entire KAL project here!
Vanilla border, the seventh piece of the Ice Cream Princess series and the final part of the summer 2024 KAL project! The vanilla border repeats the familiar twisted rib stitch found in all the pieces.
The border is knitted (after an initial crochet row) directly around the blanket and is knitted in long rows from the center to the edges. Depending on the size of your blanket or project, you may need very long circular needles, such as 150 cm or more, or several interchangeable needle cables in a row. However, the border is worth it, as it perfectly gathers and frames any Ice Cream Princess project.
The border fits perfectly on various types of corners; sharp, softer, and even inner corners, so with the instructions, you can easily knit it around both diagonally placed and straight-rowed pieces. And since the border is knitted directly onto the blanket, there is no need for separate joining or counting stitches.
The half-vanilla is finished in the same style as the other pieces, easily with a crochet hook. All of this is instructed both verbally and with a video.
This pattern includes written instructions and pictures for knitting the border.
Available as a PDF file for now.
Happy knitting wishes,
Sari
