You can choose between two yarn kit options: Viking Garn's Alpaca Bris or Katia Concept Souspir. Below you will find more information about each option! The original Hattaraprinsessa shawl is knitted with Souspir, but Bris is a good and airy alternative.

Souspir

Souspir is a thick but light yarn that is made of airy knit tubing. The yarn is a soft blend of mulesing-free merino wool, French angora, and polyamide for strength.

Angora rabbit fur is collected by gently combing it. This type of fur collection is animal-friendly and does not harm the animal during the fur collection. The angora in Souspir yarn comes from Europe and is originally French.

The Souspir yarn kit includes 16 skeins of yarn and participation in the Hattaraprinsessa shawl Knitalong (the kit includes instructions on how to download the Hattaraprinsessa shawl KAL PDF pattern from the Arteeni online store). The width of the finished Hattaraprinsessa shawl knitted with Souspir yarn is approximately 180 cm. The price of the yarn kit is 65 €. The production of this yarn has been discontinued, so this option will no longer be available in the future. The yarn kit does not include needles.

Alpaca Bris

Alpaca Bris is a soft and airy alpaca blend yarn. The yarn's support structure is a nylon knit tubing into which fluffy alpaca and merino wool fibers are blown to create a soft surface.

The Hattaraprinsessa shawl is best knitted with medium-sized needles, 6-7 mm (the sample shawl was knitted with 6.5 mm needles), so that its airiness comes into its own and the different surface stitches are highlighted.

Most of the yarn is baby alpaca, which is the finest alpaca wool and is therefore very pleasant to the touch against even the most sensitive skin. Alpaca wool is one of the warmest wool types due to the air pockets in the fibers, but at the same time it is also very breathable and pleasant to wear. In addition to alpaca, the yarn contains merino wool, which adds to the softness and luxurious feeling.

The Alpaca Bris yarn kit includes 5 skeins of yarn and participation in the Hattaraprinsessa shawl KnitALong (the kit includes instructions on how to download the Hattaraprinsessa shawl KAL PDF pattern from the Arteeni online store). You can choose between a white and a natural white yarn kit. The width of the finished Hattaraprinsessa shawl knitted with Bris yarn is approximately 150-160 cm. The price of the yarn kit is 50 €. The yarn kit does not include needles.
