The clear and engaging patterns of Dóttir
(daughter) sweater are at their best when knitted in just two colours. You can either choose contrasting colours, or pick colours that are next to each other – just make sure there is enough contrast for the pattern to show.
With just two colours the knitting is easy. Colour dominance is important, to make sure the pattern stands out well. Hold the dominant color to the left of the background color, to make it stand out better.
Knitted with double Plötulopi, Dóttir is not only quick to knit, but also really warm, and still a light garment for everyday use.
As with many Icelandic garments, the sleeves are knitted first, followed by the body, and the yoke comes last, combining everything into a completed garment. You will have no trouble knitting with this pattern!
