Börkur by Johanna Vaurio-Teräväinen (FI, EN)
Börkur
Börkur (means bark of a tree) is a warm sweater with a hood which is super comfy to wear in chilly weather.
The model is designed for men, but with waist shaping it can easily be modified for women. Börkur is very light if made of double Plötulopi.
There are many options to modify the pattern, and you can also knit it without a hood. The yarn used is in the picture is double Plötulopi, but you can use double Lettlopi or Alafosslopi instead just as well. Just be sure to adjust the gauge accordingly.
Börkur sweater is quick to knit. As with many Icelandic garments, the sleeves are knitted first, followed by the body, and the yoke comes last, combining everything into a completed garment. You will have no trouble knitting with this pattern!
Wishing you enjoyable knitting!
MATERIALS, SIZES AND ACCESSORIES
Plötulopi 100g / 300m double and 80cm circular needles 7mm and double point needles 3.5mm or according to own gauge. More detailed materials can be found in the yarn chart picture.
Note. The density of the pattern is 13 sts / 10 cm, secure the handwriting by knitting a closed stockinette st. Note. Be careful with the knitting density, as the difference between the even loop affects not only the width of the work but also e.g. to the height of the curve!
